The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was established in 1992. The department has 6 research laboratories, and provides Bachelor's, master's and doctoral education.
The Department teaches basic engineering concepts, design and analysis of electrical and electronic circuits and systems, communication systems, and provides laboratory facilities for analogue and digital electronics, microprocessors, communication, electrical machines, and automation systems.
From its establishment the department has conducted its teaching in Turkish, but in 2024–2025 it moved to teaching 30% of its modules in English. The University provides an English Preparatory Program that is mandatory for new intakes.
The University offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities, and students are encouraged to participate in activities within different student clubs and societies, which may include technical visits to industry.
Graduates find employment in companies in the fields of electricity, energy, electronics, communication, biomedicine, and research and development. Companies include major national and multinational companies, telecommunication companies, internet service providers, municipalities, TEDAŞ, TEİAŞ, radio and TV broadcasting organizations, production and marketing units, universities or research centers.
