The Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department was established in the 1992-1993 academic year and began its activities in the 1993-1994 academic year. The Department carries out its education and training activities in the Faculty of Engineering Building. Within this building, it effectively utilizes an area of approximately 1850 m2 (including amphitheaters, classrooms, laboratories, workshops, faculty and administration offices, seminar halls, etc.). As of the 2023-2024 academic year, the instruction has started to be implemented as 30% English.
In addition to the breakfast and dinner served in the dormitories, many cafeterias, dining halls, and canteens are available within the university to meet the nutritional needs of our students. Furthermore, the Student Life Center, covering an area of 12 thousand m2, offers various cafeterias, dining rooms, a game room, a bookstore, a barber, a prayer room (mescit), and a market to serve our students. The location of our University also provides excellent opportunities for our students to lead a healthier and more social life. Besides the sea and forest air, our students can engage in sports at the Olympic Swimming Pool and various sports centers, and find many areas to spend their free time. Our OMÜ Central Library provides uninterrupted service 24 hours a day. Furthermore, rich printed and electronic resources, along with internet-connected computers allocated for student use, enable our students to advance on the path of science.
